Wheatbelt Olympian shows Aussie style

14/08/2008 12:08:00 PM
FORMER Merredin resident Tully Bevilaqua excitedly picked up her team kit after the Lauren Jackson-led Opals arrived in Beijing.

A first-time Olympian at 36, Bevilaqua said it sent chills down her spine when she picked up her team uniform.

“I love the uniforms, they’re wonderful,” she said.

“I could wear a hessian bag with an Aussie logo and it wouldn’t bother me.’’

The Opals won their first game, against Belarus 83-64.
