Sydney Roosters hooker James Aubusson remains a chance of playing against Cronulla tonight despite being knocked out twice last Friday.

Aubusson was not named in the side following his double blow against Melbourne, but club doctor John Orchard said he would be reassessed this morning. "He's done a bit of training, but he's still in a bit of doubt," Orchard said. Cronulla fullback Brett Kearney has been given until today to prove his fitness.

Gold Coast prop Michael Henderson (shoulder) will not play against Brisbane tonight. Henderson was named as 18th man, but coach John Cartwright said he expected the side to be "1-17". Brisbane are expected to have no changes.

Ben Te'o is likely to drop off the Wests Tigers bench ahead of their clash with Manly tomorrow night, meaning 18th man Daine Laurie will play. Manly coach Des Hasler has not finalised his squad.

Parramatta are still sweating on the fitness of Feleti Mateo (bruised knee), Joel Reddy (hamstring) and Taulima Tautai (ribs) for their clash with the Bulldogs . All three will be given until late to prove their fitness, but are expected to play.

Knights forward Cory Paterson (ribs) is in doubt to play North Queensland . If he is ruled out, 18th man Mark Taufua is expected to be brought in. Kurt Gidley's training has been restricted this week due to a bruised big toe, but he is confident of playing.

Cowboys skipper Johnathan Thurston has been cleared to play despite suffering a scare on his return from knee surgery against Gold Coast last Saturday. "He's right," said coach Ian Millward. [The injury] had nothing to do with the last one."

Souths coach Jason Taylor said his side would be "as per" against Canberra on Sunday. The Raiders are also expected to be "1-17", with Nigel Plum and Ben Jones dropping off their bench.

St George Illawarra five-eighth Jamie Soward has again succumbed to a back complaint, and will be replaced by Ben Rogers against the Warriors , who are expected to be as named.

Penrith coach Matthew Elliott was not expected to make any changes to the side he named on Tuesday to face Melbourne . The Storm should be as per program, but Scott Anderson will travel as 18th man.
